Being Featured in a Magazine

Last week I checked “Being Featured in a Magazine” off my Bucket List. I have to be honest, it wasn’t the feature I thought I’d have as my first one, but I am still super stoked about it.

I had a few shots featured but this was the main one featured in the article. Pictured in Tom Marshall the author.

A few months ago I was at a precision rifle course with JJ Rock in Arizona. If you’re not sure what that is, it’s basically a course where you learn to shoot a rifle really far. You may be asking why I was attending a precision rifle course but the short answer is I have a full other life outside of photography :)

While at the course a magazine called Recoil Magazine was down reviewing a new rifle being made by JJ Rock and shown at the course. I decided, as usual, to start snapping photos of the event and ended up getting some awesome shots of both the rifle and Tom Marshall, the article’s author. A few weeks later Recoil asked if they could use my shots in the upcoming article on the rifle and boom, I was published in a magazine.

All in all I am stoked and honored to be featured in a magazine and such a largely published one. In fact, I recently saw the magazine in the airport while traveling to Puerto Rico and bought it!

I think if anything this is a great reminder to always have a camera close because you never know when you might get a winning shot.
